Some coffee blends stand out. They become legends, asked for by name and creating loyal fans. For us, that's the Storm Espresso Blend. What makes a coffee blend legendary? The Philosophy Behind the Storm
We wanted to create a truly strong coffee blend for Australia. Not strong in a burnt or bitter way, but strong in character, body, and flavour. The mission was to craft a coffee that was powerful enough to be a wake-up call, but smooth and balanced enough to be enjoyed every single day. We aimed to create a controlled storm of flavour, intense and exciting, but never harsh.
The Components: A Global Alliance of Beans
To build this flavour, we sourced beans from two of the world's best coffee-growing regions, each playing a crucial role like an instrument in an orchestra.
The deep, resonant bass notes of the blend come from Sumatra, Indonesia. Sumatran beans are famous for their incredibly heavy body, low acidity, and rich, earthy flavours. This gives Storm its signature syrupy texture and powerful foundation. The melody comes from Brazil. Brazilian beans provide the classic, crowd-pleasing notes of chocolate and nuts. This brings a deep sweetness and a smooth, balanced character to the blend, ensuring the storm is delicious, not just strong.
The Roast Profile: Forging Power and Sweetness
We roast Storm to a deep Medium-Dark level. This is a very deliberate choice. It's roasted long enough to caramelise the natural sugars in the beans, creating a deep sweetness and a rich, heavy body. But we stop the roast before any harsh, smoky, or overly "roasty" flavours can develop. This profile is also designed to produce a thick, rich, and stable crema - the beautiful reddish-brown foam on top of a perfect espresso shot.
The Sensory Experience
Storm is a coffee you feel as much as you taste. From the moment you open the bag, the experience begins. The aroma is powerful and inviting, with notes of dark chocolate, molasses, and a hint of warm spice. When brewed, it has a syrupy, full-bodied texture that feels incredibly satisfying in your mouth.

Why Storm Excels with Milk
This is where Storm truly becomes a legend in Australia. It is, without a doubt, one of the best espresso blends for milk. Many coffees can taste weak or get lost in a flat white or latte. Storm is different. Its incredible power and depth mean it cuts through the milk like a beacon. The rich, chocolatey flavours aren't diluted; they blend with the milk to create a drink that tastes like a liquid chocolate brownie or a sophisticated mocha, without needing any syrup.
While it was born for the espresso machine, Storm is also fantastic in other brewers. It makes a bold, rich, and powerful cup in a stovetop Moka pot, a plunger (French Press), or an AeroPress. If you love a coffee that is strong and full-flavoured, Storm will deliver.
Why Storm is a Cafe Favourite
There's a reason so many cafes choose Storm as their wholesale espresso blend.
- The "Wow" Factor. Storm is a memorable coffee. It's the kind of impactful, delicious coffee that customers talk about and come back for specifically.
- Consistency. Our meticulous roasting process means the Storm you serve your customers in June is identical to the one you served in December. It's a reliable workhorse.
- Barista-Friendly. Despite its bold flavour, this blend is surprisingly easy to dial in, meaning your baristas can pull consistently amazing shots, even during the busiest morning rush.
Storm is more than just a coffee; it's an experience. It was engineered from the ground up for those who crave a coffee with character, body, and an unforgettable flavour. It's our legend, and we're proud to roast it fresh for you.
